Title: Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra Expansion Launches October 22
The second major expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield, titled The Crown Tundra, arrives on Nintendo Switch on October 22, 2020. This new content transports players to the frigid, snow-covered Crown Tundra region, where they’ll encounter a fresh story,探索 new areas, and discover many never-before-seen Pokémon.
A key feature is the Dynamax Adventures, a new cooperative raid system where players can team up to explore Max Raid dens and capture powerful Legendary Pokémon, including the new Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. The expansion also introduces the legendary Pokémon Calyrex, which players must help restore to its full power.
Existing Pokémon Sword and Shield players will receive The Crown Tundra as a free in-game update, accessible through the game’s Expansion Pass. The update requires an internet connection to download. This follows the first expansion, The Isle of Armor, continuing the new model of substantial post-launch content for the core games.
